Bioinformatics and Biostatistics collaborative wiki
This wiki can serve as a starting point for documentation and collaboration for projects at the Medical University of South Carolina. It is meant to serve Biostatistics groups within the Department of Medicine Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology and Bioinformatics groups within the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology.
Why?
Important information, when discovered, should be recorded for later reference (remember main ideas, the particulars can be looked up). This is important for groups of people to be able to build on past knowledge, regardless of group turnover and individual memory capacity.
What?
Some example uses and content:
- group collaboration / coordination: wikis are democracies (with absolute monarchs)
- documentation
- document management
- information persistence without needing to understand HTML
